Have you set your goals for the year yet? Do you feel left behind for some odd reason? Do you think it is pointless to set goals? We live in an incredibly competitive world. A world where most of us not only want to be the best in what we do but also be better than the next person. We thrive to be the best that we can be. This life has made us seem not to be doing enough to get ahead. Just when we think we have achieved the best, and then (((BOOM))) there is something that appears to be better than what we have. Living on the competitive side of life can be exhausting and it also requires resilience. Our resilience should be aligned with what we believe ourselves to be. Do you think our goals are independent of what we believe ourselves to be?
What is better than you?
With the advance in technology, there is always the best of something that we have either achieved or desire to have. There is always somebody who appears to be achieving more than we are, speaks, and sounds better than we are. All this is like the wind that tosses us in all directions. This can temper with the goals we either want to set for ourselves or we have already set. What do you believe about yourself? I ask this question because we must know what we believe about ourselves. Not the idea we would like to believe but what we truly believe about ourselves. That has a huge impact on what anchors us.
False reality
Sometimes it is easy to hold on to the idea of what we would like to be and believe? Believing ourselves to be the idea we hold dear to us when in reality we believe the opposite. Have you ever stopped and wondered what anchors you as a person? We constantly aim for the best and that is a great thing, however, have we stopped to consider what has led us to aim for that which we deem to be best? We are mostly anchored by our beliefs. Our beliefs about ourselves matter more than any opinion anyone can have about us. Are our beliefs congruent with the amazing goals that we have set?
Reflections
Do you know what you believe about yourself? What do you believe about yourself? How aligned are your goals to your beliefs? How can you work on your self-limiting beliefs?
We have the ability to reach our goals only we need to believe that we can as we pursue them.
