I found myself contemplating on whether I should continue with a decision I had made over a year ago or if I should pull the plug. When the decision was made, I was not the sole decision-maker however, I found myself left alone a few months after the decision was made. Still with that, I, at the time, believed that everything was still on track.
Decision sustenance – As they say, time waits for no man. I had to evaluate the quality of the decision now that my deciding partner was not there, though I was still happy with the decision. I needed to evaluate the quality of the decision because the same decision needed to make sense to me in 2-5 years.
We are today because of the decisions we made yesterday
We sometimes make decisions that seem legit and good today however they might not necessarily be good in the near future and that’s how I felt. Now that I was alone, was the same decision good for me as an individual or was I going to hold on to the decision because I was already in it. Those are some of the questions I had to ask myself. I heard this quote years ago that “if where you are has nothing to do with where you are going change directions”. A wise man changes his mind when required to.
I believe you and I need to constantly evaluate our decisions. I needed to consider what was important to me. Most of us shy away from changing our minds on decisions that we have made even when the same decisions will not lead us to where we want to be.
Let us consider the decisions that you and I have made about anything that we have decided on and ponder on this, will the same decision take us to where we want to be in the near future? How should you and I navigate around changing our minds about certain decisions that we have made?
Are the decisions we are making today taking us to where Be want to me tomorrow? What is stopping us from changing our minds about a decision we made in the past?
Remember this – we are where we are today because of the decisions we have made yesterday.

Hello Mels
Thank you. Evaluating our decision also suggests that we still know where we are going.

Hello Tshepo
There’s an idiom that says “better later than never”. It is surely never too late to evaluate our decisions.
You are welcome.
