This past weekend, I had my friends come over for our year-end lunch. With the year coming to an end, we figured we needed to meet and do lunch before everyone got busy this holiday season, be it with traveling or simply spending time with family. We do not get to spend enough time with family during the year and it seems best to use the holiday season to spend as much time as we need with family.

Our year-end lunch was aimed at celebrating each other, reminding each other that we are overcomers. It is important to remind each other that for as long as there’s still breath in us, we can remain hopeful. Against all odds, we overcame, we conquered and yes, we saw it fit to celebrate that. The same way a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step should be the same way big victories are celebrated in small winnings.
As we gathered, there was so much laughter. What dominates your gathering with your friends? I don’t know about you, but with my friends, there are those of us we trust with cooking and those that we want nowhere near the pots. We still have those that are good at giving cooking tips, but they still cannot cook to save their own lives. Which friend are you? Each of us are known for our true self.
Stay in your lane, your abundance is right there.
Our fellowship made me realise the importance of trueness to oneself, the actual realisation of who you and I are? What we are made of and what we can achieve. Is what we believe in reflected in our actions? We need to constantly remind ourselves of what we believe in. Is what we are known for honestly what we believe ourselves to be?
Just like how my friends and I know how each of us is in the kitchen, you and I must consider if our actions reflect what we believe about ourselves.
