Part 1: Cooking as a living strategy

Is good food your thing or are you an as-long-as-I-have-eaten-and-I -am-full individual? Whichever one you are, eating is an imperative part of life, even people on a diet do eat food or less of it, however, they still eat. Some say cooking is an art, while others believe that adding anything other than what is on your plate of food is disrespectful to the chef, they do not take kindly to people who add catch-up to the food they have prepared.

Nevertheless, have you ever wondered what goes into preparing a ridiculously amazing dish, huh? How and where do cooks get their inspiration to cook from? The amount of faith they have in what they do and the belief that the finished product will be delicious and still with all of that, do they get it right all the time. Hmm, and what amends to they make should a dish not come out as they had imagined? Hmmm, they play and play a bit more until they get it right.

All this inspiration and creativity of cooking is put into practice just for you and I to indulge in the food they have prepared. So, a chef would in his capacity, get inspiration from anywhere, and try out different styles of cooking and come up with an amazing dish.

Here is what I have found to be a common trait in cooking, chefs/cooks are very playful in the kitchen, they allow their minds to go wild in the kitchen, and amazingly enough they always come up with the best dishes. They rid themselves of all imitations, traditional concepts of what cooking used to be, and go crazy in their havens. Chefs have a way of blocking out all conformity and all do’s and don’ts of what cooking is known to be.

This just means that limitations only happens in our minds and our self-belief (and maybe being open to too many critiques). Imagine if we can adopt an attitude that of a chef/cook, and lock ourselves up in our “own kitchens”, be it career, business, whatever hustle we are in to and just block out all limitations, face our fears and allow all creativity to reign in that particular moment.

Just imagine that. Imagine it again and go for it and see how, you too, can come up with the best dish in your sphere of influence.

I’m blown away at how you unwrap the topic of chefs staying away from the norm in order to create fresh, delicious and bold dishes.
Putting that in everyday life makes one realize we can do so much more just buy creating our own realities afresh. Stay away from the norm!
