Injustices, racism and habits.
Life sometimes seems as though things just erupt from nowhere and we wonder and ask ourselves “where did that come from?”. Without tracing back our steps we will never know how we ended up where we are. We find ourselves reliving our experiences year in and year out with no significant change that we truly desire. Racism is as such, it remains undealt with and yet we all hope and desire for it to end and go away. Racism denies people their God-given right to be. Maybe we should also apply the same principles to our lives that anything not dealt with remains in the state it is in and risks growing to what you hate. It’s comical to assume that oppressors will let it go so easy, racism, and our habit.
Undealt with.
We compromise on looking liberated than we are liberated. We delay dealing with life’s issues and the only thing we can do is pretend to be entirely happy. What we are currently seeing is nothing more than undealt issues that have been impacting people around the world and thus affect the communities they live in. We illuminate what is inside. We need to think of everything else that we avoid dealing with and ponder on whether they have left us in a peaceful state. Sometimes we are left without peace on the decisions we have made because the decision is not the right one for us. Any decision we make that leaves us in a state of “no peace” means we need to deal with it unless of course, we are happy with living lives that are without peace.
What are the issues that you have left undealt with?
Some need more assertive decisions and actions than others. Racism and habits.
We constantly need to check ourselves, just as well as we need to check our environment. Our environment is a direct reflection of what is happening in the hearts of men and women that occupy the land. When we find ourselves experiencing injustices, we need to understand that it is a direct reflection of the hearts of the people of the day. Those experiencing the injustice should not just sit and cry foul at the injustice they experience forever, at some point those who experience the injustice need to stand and confront the system. They just need to decide on when they want to confront the injustices they are experiencing. Sooner or later what is left undealt with will erupt and spiral out of control.
Let us personalize this, what are the things in our lives that we have left undealt with? We do not even need to think that deep about it, what are the things that you brush-off all the time, and yet they leave you at a state of “no-peace”. These are the things that we think of the last before we doze off at night and most probably the first things we think about in the morning and yet all the while they give us no peace. They too, at some point, when we continue to leave them undealt with will erupt and spiral out of control.
Reflections
The people experiencing injustices should rise and confront the system that oppresses them. Those enjoying the benefit of oppression will surely pull back when they must restructure the oppressive system which they benefit from to benefit the lives of many. Just as much as our bad and good habit find it difficult to make room for new habits in our lives unless we make a conscious decision to introduce the new habit.
Which habits are benefiting from the starvation of the things you want to do in your life? It is until we rise and confront the habit that hinders us from pursuing the things we want; old habits will prevail.
Remember those benefiting from the oppressive system will always think you are complaining.
Just like racism that remains undealt with, our bad habit will erupt and spiral out of control if we do not deal with them. Racism and bad habits remain the same when left undealt with.
