Life can get so busy and we sometimes get caught up in trying to make life work. This is what came to mind as I was thinking and searching what to write about. I struggled quite a bit to come up with a topic and my mind was so busy. I had several ideas to dissect however none of them were settling. This happened the entire day until I decided to relax about it and focus on other things.
The thought of how we sometimes get caught up with life led me to a time when I visited Hong Kong. It was a trip for a friend’s birthday which was planned for just under a year. I love new experiences. This is a trip that taught me valuable work and life lessons. We strive to be the best in all we do, and we then need to see and know what the best are doing.
Photos – for the love of memories.
As we were walking the streets of Hong Kong, a very busy city I must add, we wanted to take a couple of photos. We found a perfect spot to do so however, the area was just busy, and it seemed quite difficult to take photos without any distractions. We tried to take photos from where we were positioned but our photos were not good enough (Those who love taking photos will understand). We wanted good memories captured.
Well, we did the unthinkable. We decided to go to the middle of the road and started taking photos. It was quite funny at first, we would wait for the traffic lights to close and then quickly run to the middle of the road and take photos. Of course, there were stares from most people.
Here is the interesting thing about our crazy photoshoot in the middle of a busy road in Hong Kong, every time we would run to the middle of the road to take photos, people started making way for us to take good photos. Some became bystanders looking at us enjoying our fun photoshoot. At realising this, it happened as soon as we zoned out from how by-passers were looking at us and just focussed at what were wanted to achieve. We even had a young lady offer to take photos of us. Amazing what life can do hey.
Thinking about this, for as long as we were concerned about the many people that were there, it was quite difficult for us to take photos but as soon as we stopped focussing on people and how busy it was, it was then that we were able to take good photos. We zoned out, calmed the many thoughts and uncertainties we had.
Imagine if you and I had to zone out, calm the many thoughts and uncertainties we have right now about the things that we want to do and achieve. Imagine if you and I had to be as daring as we were when we quickly ran to the middle of the road and take photos, just like how people started clearing away for us to be able to take perfect photos, life will do the same for us. Life will clear the many distractions we are so consumed about. Just like the young lady who offered to take photos of us, the same will happen for us, help in different forms will be sent to us, we just need to be vigilant enough to see and know when help is sent.
What is keeping our minds so busy today that we have created the many reasons why it would be impossible for us to achieve what we want to achieve?
Let’s zone out, calm the many thoughts and uncertainties we have housed in our minds
