Anxiety Part Eight: Gratitude in my pockets

Finding unexpected money in your pockets is awesome. Remember the feeling and the smile on your face when you found unexpected money in your pockets. However much it was, you still got excited. The excitement must have taken you to cloud nine more so if you had no money then. Imagine going through the week on a very tight budget because you thought you were about to exhaust your funds meanwhile you had money somewhere in your house that you were not aware of.

Finding unexpected money in your pockets is awesome. You then realize that you will be able to get yourself the things you thought you could not afford at the time. That feeling of relief. (Are you thinking of that moment?). Well, it probably happened several times and there is a high probability that it will happen again, and that is life, some of our experiences will reoccur more than once and how we deal with them is dependant on what we learned in the first experience.

Finding unexpected money in your pockets is awesome. I have a friend (Zolile) who has challenged himself to always save the “forgotten money in his pockets” for months. I found this quite interesting, he must have realized that he always forgets money in his pockets and has decided to use that as a savings plan.

Finding unexpected money in your pockets is awesome. Sometimes we go through life thinking and to some extent believing that we are out of resources and what we have is all that we have. Think of that moment when you searched your pocket and found unexpected money and how thrilled and thankful you were. Take yourself back to that moment, if you can. I know I was grateful that I had money all along and wished that I was aware of it sooner.

Finding unexpected money in your pockets is awesome. When we go through hard times, and we feel like we are out of options, like that unexpected money in our pockets we need to revisit and search within ourselves to find resources that we had forgotten about. Things that we are most grateful for. Those are in most cases the resources that we need for us to go the extra mile.

Being grateful is one of the main ingredients you and I need to deal with anxiety. When we are thankful for the life and things we have while pursuing our dreams and visions, we will then learn that we have come a long way. Pausing and being thankful grounds us.

Search your pockets and find things to be thankful for.

I am here to learn and to refresh others.
